After providing decades of excellent service to their customers at BankPlus, Tim Davis, Jenny Brady, Brenda Hopkins, and Tammy Ladner have all decided that the time has come to retire.
Each of these individuals has worked in various positions at the bank for many years, and their caring and dedicated service will be missed by all the customers who have loved them so much.
Tim Davis has worked with the bank for a total of 37 years, Jenny Brady has worked with the bank for a total of 43 years, Brenda Hopkins has been with the bank for a total of 20 years, and Tammy Ladner has worked at the bank for a total of 35 years.
They all love their customers and have enjoyed each moment at the bank. They have made some great memories over the years and have some advice that they can offer others thanks to their experience; although it is bittersweet for them as they take this next step in life, they each have plans on what they plan to do in their retirement.
Tim Davis is thankful for everything he was able to do at the bank and proclaimed, “It’s been 37 fantastic years. I’ve gotten to help people and watch people grow. I’ve watched customers have children and watched them grow up and was able to help them as they grew up. It’s just been a blast.”
As he works towards his official retirement starting July 1, he has the following advice for others:
“I will also say, don’t wish your life away,” advised Tim. “Don’t wish that it was your time. Make every day count.”
Once he is officially retired, he plans to spend every moment he can with his wife and family.
“We hope to travel,” informed Tim. “I have lots of things to do at home. I owe my wife a lot of time, and it’s time I pay her back for it.”
Jenny Brady has also made some great memories over the years.
“I started at the bank in actual operations in August of 1982, so this August 1 I would have been at the bank for 44 years,” Jenny reminisced. “There have been a lot of conversions over the years, and I’ve been through a lot of different things like that with the bank, The bank has been very good to me. This is where I’ve always worked. It helped me raise my children. My husband always worked at the paper mill, and I always worked here, so that’s all my kids knew. I’m looking forward to the next step. I am currently a first vice president, but I’ve always said I’m just the janitor. I do whatever needs doing or whatever I can help with. We have several people leaving, but we’re still here to wait on the public. Small towns are great, and I think that we all love that because our customers know us. We enjoy that. I am really looking forward to the next chapter.”
After she officially retires, she plans to spend more time with her family.
“We have four grandchildren. They all play baseball, so we’re going to be running the roads and doing whatever we want to do,” declared Jenny. “Our health is good, and we’re very blessed.”
With the experience she has gained over the years, she does have advice for others.
“Go to work every day with a positive attitude,” advised Jenny. “Be a team player. We have a lot of people here at the bank who have been here for a really long time, and we all work well together. Sure, there are days where you may not feel too great, but in a workforce, you have to put that aside and all work together.”
Brenda Hopkins has enjoyed her time working for the bank.
“I enjoyed working with BankPlus. I enjoyed working with the people,” proclaimed Brenda. “I thank God for allowing me to be here as long as I have been. I feel blessed, and I’m honored.”
When she is officially retired, she intends to use her time to serve others through Christ.
“I love mission work,” explained Brenda. “In the future, I plan to do more for the Lord. I like going to the hospital and visiting the sick. I like being a prayer warrior. I just want to enjoy life. Nobody knows when they’re gonna leave this world, but I figure with my age that it’s time for me to enjoy some of my life.”
Of course, she also has advice for others.
“I encourage everyone to enjoy life,” advised Brenda. “We don’t know when we’ll be leaving this life. I just pray the best for everybody.”
While Tim, Jenny, and Brenda’s official day for retirement is July 1, Tammy Ladner officially started her retirement on May 1. Like the others, she has enjoyed her time at the bank and made some great memories over the years.
“I worked at BankPlus for 35 years,” recalled Tammy. “I started here in Quitman training, and then I went to Stonewall for a number of years. Eventually, I came back to Quitman where I stayed until I retired on May 1. My coworkers ended up being my lifelong friends. We’re like one big family. It was a wonderful place to work, and I’m really going to miss them, but this is a small community, so I’m sure we’ll run into each other.”
She is a people person and already knows exactly what she plans to do in her retirement.
“My future plans will be to spend most of my time with my two great nieces,” declared Tammy. “They are so precious, and I enjoy them so much. I hope to travel some, and I have friends in southwest Mississippi that I hope to be able to spend time with.”
With the experience she has gained over the years, she has some advice for others.
“If you find a place to work that you’re comfortable with and stick with it, it’ll be worth it in the end,” advised Tammy.
Naturally, their work family loves them and wishes the best for them as they enter this new season of their lives. Each person who works there only has great things to say about them.
Alicia Hardeman expressed, “Tim has been an amazing boss; he truly cares about his employees. Jenny is like a mother hen to me and truly is a great listener to anything you need to talk about. Tammy is as sweet as she can be and always goes above and beyond doing things for people and animals. Brenda is a godly woman; she has been great to work with. I will truly miss every one of these coworkers!”
Frances Underwood declared, “Tim has been an awesome boss and friend over the years. He will truly be missed by me and many others. He always had time to listen and had many encouraging words. Brenda has been not only a coworker but a best friend and prayer partner for many years. I will miss her and our lunches together. Tammy, of course, you could hear her before you saw her! She is missed, but I will get to let her babysit my fur dog while on vacations. Jenny will be missed too. She is just a country girl from Carmichael. I know she will have plenty of babies to entertain and will have plenty to keep her busy at home.”
Jenny Brady proclaimed, “Well, where do I start? Tim and I have worked together since he came from our Stonewall branch. He has quite a sense of humor, and he’s very quick witted and won’t crack a smile while we are all falling out laughing. He has been a wonderful boss to all of us at the Quitman branch, and I wish him nothing but the best. Now on to Tammy Ladner, now that is a pure mess. She knows everyone in town, and she knows everything you have ever done, good or bad, and she will gladly share that information with whoever will listen. She has been a wonderful friend and coworker. Brenda Hopkins is a precious soul and is the cleanest person you will ever be around. She has a wonderful laugh and will do anything for you. We are so blessed at BankPlus to have so many wonderful employees that we all think of as family. Most of us have been here for many years, and we have raised our children together. I could call on any of them at any time, and they would be there for me if I needed them. We have a very special group of employees that I dearly love and will miss.”
Tammy Hoffman stated, “It has truly been a pleasure working with each of you over the past 20 plus years. I wish you all the very best as you begin this next chapter of your lives. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement. Most of all, cherish this special time with your families. You all will be missed.”
Jennifer Robinson declared, “Brenda, Jenny, Tammy, and Tim have brought unique strengths, wisdom, and positivity, helping shape the workplace we know today. Their years of service reflect not only professional excellence but also a genuine care for the people around them. While it’s bittersweet to see them go, we are excited for this new chapter in their lives—a time to relax, explore, and enjoy all the things they’ve worked so hard for.”
Congratulations to Tim, Jenny, Brenda, and Tammy on your retirement!
