Clarkco State Park, located at 386 Clarke County Road in Quitman, will host Flight Club’s Second Annual Tree Trunk Chunk on Saturday, April 20. This disc golf tournament will be PDGA C-Tier, two-rounds at Inspiration Point DGC in Clarkco.
There are multiple divisions that competitors can choose to participate in. It will cost $45 for all amateur divisions and $55 for the pro divisions.
Check in and registration for the event will be from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., and a player’s meeting take place at 8:30 a.m. The first round will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Once the first round is completed, everyone will take a lunch break. The Friends of Clarkco will have a concession stand open for lunch so that everyone can continue to enjoy their time at the park without having to leave. The meals will be $8 and include a hamburger, chips, and drink.
The second round will begin after lunch. Once the tournament is completed, winners will be announced and rewarded with their payouts (for pros) and merchandise vouchers (for amateurs).
Currently, there are seven holes on the course with short tees. Those tees will be used by all of the women’s and junior’s divisions, as well as MA3, MA4, and MA50 and above.
Disc and That, a disc golf supply retailer, will be at the event offering various disc golf supplies. The amateur vouchers will be redeemable with them for merchandise.
Also, on Friday, April 19, there will be a disc dying clinic offered at 6:00 p.m. for anyone interested in learning how to dye discs. To participate in the clinic that Friday, just add it during the registration.
