Dr. David "Doc" Netherland, 73, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on December 29, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on November 29, 1952, to Harry and Mary (Finn) Netherland.
Doc was a native of Meridian, MS, where he went to school in the Meridian Public School System. He also served in the United States Air Force after graduation. After his years of service and college, Doc worked as a Chiropractor in Quitman, MS, and Laurel, MS, for over 30 years.
Doc is survived by his beloved wife, Polly Smith Netherland; sister, Norma Campbell; two nephews, Greg Campbell and Paul (Patti) Netherland; great-nephew, Hunter (Allison) Campbell; three step-children, Tracie Brantley, Adam (Michelle) Sellers, Kim (Doug) Shirley; and several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death his by his father, Harry Netherland; mother, Mary Netherland; and two brothers, Dr. Allen Netherland and Wayne Netherland.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church (Quitman) with Rev. Dennis Coats and Rev. Wilson Kendrick officiating.
