On January 14, 2024, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Committee will be hosting a march at Sumrall Park, 506 North Archusa Ave. in Quitman. It will begin at Sumrall Park and will end at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church, 108 Shirley Dr. in Quitman. Line-up for the march will be at 4:45 p.m., and the march itself will take place at 5:00 p.m.
Those who are participating are asked to bring candles to hold during the march.
There will be a commemoration program at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church following the march. The guest speaker for the program will be Pastor Ecclesiastes Goodwin.
