Families everywhere will be reading aloud the Easter story on Sunday, teaching their children the true reason for the holiday amidst egg hunts and baskets of goodies.
The sweetest telling of that story comes from the mouths of babes themselves:
• “Jesus died on the cross. He goed into the tomb and he came back alive in three days and Mary goed in there and didn’t see his body and then Mary saw him alive. The end.”—Graham Shumate, age 6
• “Easter is when Jesus died on the cross. He rose in two days. I mean three days. Now, we can go to heaven.” –John Reagan Goodman, age 6
• “Easter is all about Jesus dying on the cross to save us from our sins. He was nailed to the cross, then taken to a cave. He came out a few days later. Now, he lives in our hearts and we can go to heaven.”—Eva Powell, age 7
