Thursday afternoon local art students were honored with a reception by the Quitman Woman’s Club. (Look in next week’s Tribune for the pictures and winners).
The art contest is just one of many projects that the Quitman Woman’s Club does for the community.
The communities of Enterprise and Quitman are blessed to have an active group of women who volunteer their time for projects that benefit the community we live in.
These Clubs provide so much for the community in ways they never receive recognition for. They provide scholarships to local students, host events and receptions for honor students; provide refreshments at the drop of hat for any municipality or organization that needs assistance; they organize community beautification projects, and so much more.
They are the spokes in the wheels that keep things running smoothly in our county and they do so much behind the scenes for their church, community and civic groups.
The Tribune wanted to recognize this group of hard working volunteers and say thank you for what you do for our community. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
