Ernest Gerald Moffett, 85, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on May 29, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on November 24, 1936, to Earnest and Colie (Coleman) Moffett in Meridian, MS.
Gerald was retired from Howard Transportation after 30 plus years. He also enjoyed taking care of his cattle and working his farm.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Tanya Moffett (Chad) Hall; two sons, Keith (Wendi) Moffett and Kreg (Kristy) Moffett; 11 grandchildren, Morgan (Chris) Amerson, Shreya Moffett, Hayden Moffett, Hunter Moffett, Karter Moffett, Shiloh Moffett, Haley Moody, Chase Hall, Kaitlin Moffett, Kylin Moffett (Stephen) Stiglets, Kameron Moffett; five great grandchildren, Oliver Moody, Claire Amerson, Charlotte Amerson, Sadie Stiglets, Kaley Hokanson; and a brother, Gene Moffett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Grover Moffett; mother, Colie Moffett; wife, Arlette Stamper Moffett; brother, Ricky Moffett.
Visitation was held Thursday, June 2, 2022, after 2:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 2, 3:30 p.m. at the Shady Grove Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Ron Leonard officiating.
Burial took place in the Shady Grove Church of God Cemetery.
