Funeral services for Faye Gunn Adams, age 67, of Gilbertown, AL, were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Kendall Turner officiating. Visitation was held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Barrytown Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Meridian, MS. She was born on September 6, 1958, in Quitman, MS, to Edwin Lamar and Mary Jo Smith Gunn.
Faye was a good cook. Pies were her specialty, and she was often baking them for family and friends. Faye was an outdoorsy type gal. She enjoyed fishing for catfish and hunting of any kind as long as it included a dog. She was an avid coffee drinker and especially enjoyed her coffee with a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Faye loved her family, but her grandchildren came first.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Dale Adams of Gilbertown, AL; daughter, Nikki Adams McCain (Scott) of Aquilla, AL; brother, Jim Gunn of Stonewall, MS; sister, Gail Gunn Buffington (Wendell) of Quitman, MS; and grandchildren, Colton McCain and Brandon McCain.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Brian Adams; father, Edwin Lamar Gunn; mother, Mary Jo Smith Gunn; mother-in-law, Vernell Cooper; and niece, Susan Buffington.
Serving as pallbearers were Fletcher Warren, Eli Mosley, Austin Mosley, Lee Mosley, Frank Sellers, and Ernie Randall. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Buffington, Freddy Gunn, and Charles Gunn.
