Only 50% of Voters in Clarke County Visited the Polls

The long-awaited general election for 2023 is over, and the unofficial results are in. Only about 50% of voters in Clarke County came out to support their candidate in this big election. Now that it is over, Clarke County will be seeing some new faces in different positions.

Historic Clarke County Has Not Paid City of Quitman Any Rent

According to the November 7 board meeting, as of October 1st the City of Quitman has not received a rent payment from Historic Clarke County (HCC) for the GM&O Boxcar rent.

Mayor Steve Watkins asked City Clerk Naomi Shepherd to inform the board of an update on HCC.
