“At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished . . . it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back” (Denzel Washington).
After a successful time giving back to the community this Thanksgiving, Rusty’s Outreach again plans to give back to those in need for Christmas through the 12 Donations of Christmas. Trish Tanner, owner of the Rustic Cow, wants to be able to show people the true meaning of Christmas through her actions and let those in the community know that they really are loved.
“The 12 Donations of Christmas is more than just taking up items and handing them out to random strangers,” expressed Trish. “It’s about bringing us together and making us stronger as a community. It’s about being a disciple for Jesus and showing our community they are loved. To me, it is setting ties within the county.”
Her desire to give back to the community is also personal for her, and she would like to pay forward the blessings she has experienced in the past.
“During my family’s time of need, my community was here for my family,” explained Trish. “Everyone came together and helped us. Now, we just want to make a difference for them.”
Her goal this Christmas season is to make at least 20 boxes to hand out to families in need.
They are accepting donations from December 1 – December 20, and all donations are able to be dropped off at The Rustic Cow or Rustic Couture. She plans to deliver all boxes on December 23 and is in need of the following items for her 12 Donations of Christmas:
1. Soap (men/women /kids)
2. Rags
3. Combs/Hairbrush
4. Deodorant

6. Shampoo
7. Toothbrush
