“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work” (Steve Jobs).
Kim Kennedy truly loves her job and does great work for all those around her. She has one of the heroic jobs in the medical field and goes to work each day excited to help every patient she meets.
“I began my career in nursing 14 years ago. I have worked in a UTE Care, the ER, and surgery. My true love is plastic and reconstructive surgery in which I have worked for the last eight years,” stated Kim. “I plan to continue my career in Plastics, which is my passion. It is very exciting and challenging work. I work at the Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Center in Laurel, MS.”
She has continued her education over the years and has recently acquired a new degree in her field.
“I have Master’s Degree from the Family Nurse Practitioner program from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg,” explained Kim. “I recently became a certified FNP and I am so excited to begin practicing in my new role.”
Over the years, she has done many great things, and some of her great work has been acknowledged with different awards.
“I received a Trailblazer Award during my first year at USM, and I was very honored to receive that,” expressed Kim.
As much as she loves her job, there is something else that Kim loves and enjoys: her family. Spending time with her family is her favorite thing to do, and it has made some of the greatest memories that she has.
“I have been married for 11 years to my wonder husband, Allen Kennedy. We have two beautiful girls who are seven and three,” explained Kim. “I grew up in a small town called Walnut Grove. I have wonderful parents and a loving family. I came to live in Clarke County 11 years ago, and I have loved it here ever since. My two favorite memories are the birth of my girls. They changed my life completely, and I will always remember the day they were born.”
She and her family attend New Beginning Christian Fellowship in Meridian, and Kim has taken on a role in her church. Each Sunday they meet, she teaches the kid’s Sunday school class for ages four to eight.
Kim is a people person and has a heart for helping and blessing others. She tries to do her best to be an inspiration for everyone she meets, both while working or just being out and about.
It comes as no surprise that such an amazing medical professional who has a strong faith in God would have the following advice for Clarke County:
“Be safe during the pandemic, and pray for all healthcare workers.”
