The First United Methodist Church of Quitman presented Creature Comforts with a check after raising money for missions at a local event.
“We set up a booth taking donations at the Farmer’s Market,” explained Pastor Mike Evans from First United Methodist Church. “We gave out snow cones asking for donations, and the donations each month are going to go to a different mission project. Every month, we’re going to do a different mission outreach, and Creature Comforts is the first one we did for something outside of the church. We’re not just doing this for ourselves; we’re doing this for other missions.”
Creature Comforts was thankful for the blessing the church gave them.
“Creature Comforts’ board is so very thankful to First Methodist Church for their donation,” expressed Creature Comforts President Jennifer Bozeman. “We could not survive without our community support, and we appreciate everyone for their kindness.”
The donation the church made was able to purchase some much needed supplies for the shelter.
