Mr. Victor B. Minella, a Clarke Academy and Ole Miss graduate, has been selected as the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Intelligence and Security. Mr. Minella is a retired Naval Officer and a member of the Department of the Navy Senior Executive Service.
In this the new role, he is responsible for oversight of all Department of the Navy intelligence activities and programs and serves as the Department's Senior Security Official responsible for leading the Security Enterprise to include physical, industrial, information, classified programs and insider threat. He is also the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Navy for Special Operations, Irregular Warfare and Sensitive Activities.
He was raised in Pachuta and joined the Navy shortly after graduating high school where he served as a Hospital Corpsman and Survival Instructor until he returned to Mississippi to attend Ole Miss, graduating and receiving a Commission as a Naval Officer in 1997. He served the remainder of his active duty career as an Unmanned Aviation System Mission Commander and Intelligence Officer, retiring in 2008.
Mr. Minella is the son of Dr. Victor T. Minella and Margaret Minella. He and his wife Cyndi live in Maryland.
