Clarke County narcotics agents executed a search warrant early Friday morning on County Road 260 in the DeSoto community and confiscated drugs and alcohol.
Tamela Evans and Charles Kirksey were both arrested at their residence and charged with possession of 1.2 grams of powder cocaine, one gram crack cocaine, 1 – ½ grams marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Cash in the amount of $281 was also confiscated.
A large amount of alcohol was found at the residence which led officers to believe the two individuals were bootlegging the liquor and beer.
Evans and Kirksey both had prior warrants out for three counts of sale of cocaine.
The two arrests were the result of a three month long investigation by the narcotics officers. Bond was set Monday by Justice Court Judge Terry Bonner at $25,000 each.
