There will be a benefit for Hannah Raymond on Saturday, September 16, at the Corinth Assembly of God Church, located at 5985 Highway 511 in Quitman.
A silent auction will take place from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. There will be cakes and much more. A Southern Gospel Sing with Southern Joy will take place at 7:00 p.m.
All proceeds raised will go to Hannah Raymond for medical expenses and cost of travel.
Hannah was born with hydrocephalus and myelomeningocele spina bifida. Her spina bifida affects her from the waist down, giving her limited feeling in her legs. It also affects her bladder and bowels.
At only one day old, Hannah had her first surgery to close up her spine. When she turned a year old, she had a surgery to place a VP shunt to relieve the pressure on her brain, and she just had a revision surgery in January of this year. She has also had major surgeries to repair her bowel and bladder, but she still experiences issues.
For the past two years, she has been medically advised not to walk on her feet, even with the assistance of braces. Her braces do not fit properly because of a malformation of her feet and legs. On September 18, Hannah will undergo surgery and will be in a cast on both legs for a minimum of six weeks. Once the casts are removed, she will be fit for new braces and have physical therapy to teach her to walk again.
In order to assist with the costs of medical expenses and the cost of travel while she recovers, her aunt Jennifer McNail plans to host the silent auction.
Come out on September 16 and help support Hannah as she undergoes this next step to take care of her health.
