“And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 10:22) It is an honor living in a country that was founded when pilgrims fled persecution in England and sought a new land to pursue religious freedom. What is hard to grasp is seeing how our country has turned its back on God, and now the followers of Jesus have become persecuted in America.
Why are believers so hated by the world? Why do the political and educational elites see us as enemies? Why do the Democrats in Washington D.C. continue to exalt the immoral perversions of a select few and force the acceptance of those perversions upon the rest of us? Why does the Biden administration seem so hell-bent on pushing the woke agenda on God-fearing citizens and corporations?
Last week, I was reading the headlines of the day. Three out of the top ten news articles were about transgenderism. We see them listed as the LBGTQ+. They act like domestic terrorists toward anyone who rejects or speaks out against their redefinition of morality, marriage, and normal sexuality. That makes the church and the followers of Jesus their prime targets.
They would love for us to offer them a Jesus that does not call their behavior sin, or that would give them some type of self-validation. They wait for us to join forces with the liberal denominational churches in America that refuse to speak clearly on matters of sexuality. However, as Bible-believing followers of Jesus of Nazareth, we do not have the right to change the Word of God and force it to fit the perversions, mental dysphoria, or delusions of those living in the LBGTQ+ community. Why? Because Jesus died for everyone, and the only way those in these lifestyles will find freedom and true joy is to meet the real Jesus, turn from their sin, and surrender to Christ.
Jesus calls them, as well as us, to a life of faith and holiness. Without this, they will find themselves in eternal darkness and judgment. We must love them enough to speak the truth! If we fail here, we will fail to stand faithful during our hour on the stage of history, and it will have tragic consequences for our grandchildren.
Christianity is not a ‘pie in the sky’ religion that is detached from reality. It is a clear message rooted in history and time. You and I may be the only people that will stand between those trapped in sexual perversions and hell. We must stand firm. We must stand clearly. We must stand lovingly. But by all means, we must stand!
The heat brought by the federal government upon the church in the years to come will be white hot with threats and mockery. We must remember, they hate us because they hate Jesus. However, it is an honor to be… Hated for Jesus' Sake!
