Hooks & Horns celebrated their Grand Opening on Saturday, December 3.
The new business, located at 788 County Road 150 in Quitman, sells a variety of outdoor products for hunters and fishermen.
“We’re going to have mainly outdoor sports like hunting and fishing,” explained Angie Ledbetter with Hooks & Horns. “With it being deer season and us just opening, we mainly have things geared for deer season. When it gets closer to turkey season, we’ll bring in all the things you need for turkey season and continue that each season until it’s all stocked. Of course, guns and ammo are readily available, and we have two different lines of camo. We have some youth sizes, and we have Hooks & Horns logo t-shirts. I’ve talked with someone, and they’re going to start making our shirts and do like some seasonal shirts. Then, I have a ladies section with things like clothes, hats, shoes, jewelry, and little boutique type stuff.”
If there is anything that the customer needs that isn’t in the store, they are able to order the item and have it in in just a few days.
Along with supplying hunting and fishing supplies, Hooks & Horns is also bringing something else new to the county: a shooting range. The range is expected to open towards the end of December.
“We’re going to have a pistol range, a five stand sporting clays, and then a 200 yard rifle range,” declared Chip Ledbetter, owner of Hooks & Horns. “Anybody in the public will be able to come in and use it. They’ll have to bring their own gun because we can’t rent guns out. Anybody can come to the shooting range, but they’re going to have to provide an ID and sign a waiver to be able to get into it.”
They love Clarke County and are excited to open up this new business here.
“I wanted to come back home and open this because Clarke County does not have anything like this,” expressed Chip. “I think it’s just a need that needed to be filled in Clarke County, and it’s home. That’s where I want to do my business.”
