Howard Carl Hunter, 95, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on January 24, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on December 30, 1929, to John and Myrtle (Chancelor) Hunter in Clarke County, MS.
Howard is survived by his wife, Grace Pauline Hunter; two sons, Carl Gene (Sheila) Hunter and Gary Dayle Maxie; grandson, Jeffery Carl (April) Hunter; great-grandson, Jeffery Cody Hunter; and sister, Zella Hunter Goldman.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Houston Hunter; mother, Myrtle Hunter; three sisters, Grace Mills, Flora Bell Watkins, and Hazel Scott; and two brothers, John C. "Bud" Hunter and Eugene Hunter.
Visitation was held Monday, January 27, 2025, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 27, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Morris officiating.
Pallbearers were Billy Joe Gibbs, Larry Griffin, Doug Griffin, Robby Bufkin, Tommy Norris, and Cody Hunter.
Burial took place in the Manassa Cemetery.
