Janelle Ann O'Neil, 89, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on June 3, 2022, at Diversicare of Quitman.
She was born on December 8, 1932, to Charles and Sammie (Rouse) Ryder in Pascagoula, MS. Janelle was a member of Quitman First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the University of Southern Mississippi Graduating Class of 1969 and was very passionate about her career as an elementary teacher.
Janelle is survived by her sons, James Bryan (Barbara) O'Neil and Eric Patrick (Sandra) O'Neil; grandchildren, Brenden (Kimber) O'Neil, Katie (Kevin) Crane, Audrey (Adam) Shirley, Hannah O'Neil, Zack O'Neil, Sean O'Neil, and Claire O'Neil; great-grandchildren, Kadin, Konner, Anderson, Collin, Mitchell, Olivia, Damon and Luna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles James Ryder and Sammie Bertha Ryder; her husband of 57 years, Edwin Bryan O'Neil; sister, Charlotte Ryder Wood; brothers, Glenn Ryder, Charles James Ryder, and Robert Ryder.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, June 5, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating.
Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
