A second sophomore off the 2024 NJCAA Region 23 Softball Championship team has inked with a four-year program.
Bobcat ace hurler Reanna Nieman will stay in the Pine Belt and play for William Carey University.
Nieman's lone season in Ellisville was outstanding, with the San Jacinto College (Texas) transfer leading the Bobcats in wins (19), ERA (2.00), complete games (21), innings pitched (167.2) and strikeouts (172).
"Reanna took a leap of faith in choosing Jones and moving seven hours from home," first-year head coach Tori Dew said. "She has been an absolute joy to coach, is a true competitor and loves the game. We are so proud of Reanna and her opportunity to continue her playing career."
Nieman grabbed First Team All-MACCC honors and was also an NFCA First Team All-South Region selection.
Jones' No. 1 arm all year, the Deer Park, Texas, native threw 5.2 shutout innings to help lift the Bobcats to a 7-5 win at Co-Lin to capture its seventh region championship on May 11.
WCU is coming off a 41-win campaign, Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament Title and NAIA Opening Round appearance.
