Jean Haney Deavers, 87, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on December 4, 2025, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
She was born on October 31, 1938, to Woodrow and Lillian (Gandy) Haney in Quitman, MS.
Jean was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Quitman, MS.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Evans and Donna Walker; son, Mike Evans; three grandsons, Joseph Walker, Ryan (Sara) Evans, and Colby (Shelby) Evans; three great-grandchildren, Hayes Evans, Brinkley Evans, and Elizabeth Evans; and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Wilson Haney; mother, Lillian G Haney; husband, George Deavers; and her sister, Jackie Beard.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Dr. Dan Caldwell officiating.
Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joseph Walker, Ryan Evans, Colby Evans, Tim Davis, Matt Kennedy and Scott Evans.
