Jewell McNeil, 96, of Enterprise, Mississippi, passed away on July 20, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on May 17, 1927, to Cleveland and Ludie (Pace) McGaughy in Jacinto, MS.
She was a longtime Member of Anchor Church of God and Stonewall Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a Loving mother and grandmother that loved gardening and spending time with her family.
Jewell is survived by her two daughters, Denise (Michael) Fulton, and Paulette (Charles) McNeil; two sons, David (Janis) McNeil, and Gary McNeil; step-daughter, Peggy Moore; step-son, Dennis Weir; 17 grandchildren, Brad McNeil, Clint McNeil, Gary (Jennifer) McNeil, Ricky McNeil, Kristi (Benjie) Fleming, Kyle (Melody) Rigdon, Chris (Misty) McNeil, Tonya (Johnny) Jackson, Stacy Wilson (Reegan) Brown, Eric Moore, Robin Moore, Shyenne (Josh) Knost, Latricia Hapeman, Caleb Weir, Fred (Cindy) Fulton, Lisa (Jared) Seale, and Tess Fulton; 34 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; brother, Cleve (Marsha) McGaughy; two sisters, Elaine Roberts, and Lorraine Neal; and special friends, Linda McCafferty, Judy McNeil, and Syble Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland McGaughy; mother, Ludie McGaughy; husband, John L. McNeil; son, Ricky McNeil; adopted family member, James C. Baker; daughter, Judy McNeil; great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Breann Murray; three brothers, Robert McGaughy, Ernest McGaughy, and George McGaughy; four sisters, Estella Worley, Edna Lindsey, Imogene Davis, and Maxine Stephens.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 22, 2023, after 10:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie McNeese and Rev. Richard Coats officiating.
Burial took place in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (Quitman).
Pallbearers were Kyle Rigdon, Johnny Jackson, Benjie Fleming, Ricky McNeil, Ridge Jackson and David Purvis. Honorary Pallbearers were Chris McNeil, Gary McNeil, Brad McNeil and her nephews.
