JoAnn Pippen went to heaven on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from Merit-Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, following a long illness.
JoAnn was born on March 16, 1947, and was the only child of Luther and Jean Pippen of Quitman. JoAnn graduated from Quitman High School and from Jones County Junior College. She worked over 20 years at the Quitman Knitting Mills, up until its closing. She worked part-time for Hammacks Drug Store in Quitman until her illness in October 2023. Although JoAnn never married and had no siblings or children, she leaves behind friends and cousins that she cherished.
Bro. Dennis Coats, pastor of JoAnn's beloved Calvary Baptist of Quitman, will deliver graveside services at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with visitation at Wright's Funeral Home in Quitman from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
