John Ray "T-Bone " Boney, 80, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on January 22, 2025, at Ochsner Watkins Hospital in Quitman, MS.
He was born on October 28, 1944, to Dan and Eva Boney in Quitman, MS.
Everyone loved "T-Bone," also known as "Baby Ray." He was a bull hauler for 50+ years, and he had a great personality. He was described as one of a kind, quirky, and simple. T-Bone would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed his daily visits around the town of Quitman, and especially his afternoon visits with friends around "the tree."
T-Bone is survived by his son, Travis Ray (Darby) Boney; brother, Steve (Linda) Boney; sister-in-law, Patricia Boney; grandchildren, Sara Grace Boney, Will Boney, and Evie Boney; great-granddaughter, Layla Ray Boney; niece, Kim Harris; great-niece, Cammie Harris; great-nephew, Daniel Harris; and a host of other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan S. Boney; mother, Eva Boney; and his brother, Larry Boney.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Terry Irby officiating.
Burial will take place in the Harmony Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Harris, Daniel Boney, Edward Green, Scott Dedwylder, Bo Evans and Kelly "Spanky" Todd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Kennedy, Wayne Garner, and Roy Higdon.
