A new dining option has opened in Quitman as Kabab House celebrated its grand opening Friday, Oct. 30, at 211 S. Archusa Ave.
Owned by Adam Ali, the restaurant brings a different menu to the area with hopes of giving residents another place to enjoy a meal.
Ali said the idea grew from conversations with people looking for more dining choices in the community.
“A lot of people ask me about good places to eat around here,” Ali said.
The menu features wraps, plates, burgers, subs and protein bowls. Ali said the restaurant uses fresh, unfrozen meat and hopes to offer something different from the dining options already available in the area.
“People are tired of eating pizza or chicken for everything,” Ali said. “We wanted to do something different.”
Mayor Christopher Reeves welcomed the business to Quitman, recognizing the investment it represents for the community. Reeves said he had known the family for about four years and previously rented them their first business location on the north end of town.
“Something like this is a lot of money invested, and it takes somebody willing to take that risk and having faith in the town that we're going to support them,” Reeves said.
He encouraged residents to support Kabab House along with the family's other business ventures, noting the importance of supporting local business owners who are willing to invest in the community.
The grand opening marked another step in the continued growth of local business in Quitman. For community leaders, the investment represents more than another place to eat. It reflects the importance of business owners who are willing to take a chance on the community.
