It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kaydan William "Pep" Haney, 22, of Quitman, Mississippi, on June 12, 2025.
Kaydan was the beloved son of Odell and Ashley Haney.
Kaydan's vibrant spirit and kind heart touched all who knew him. At a very early age, Kaydan’s Granny Haney nicknamed him "Pepper," and from then on he was known to everyone as Pep. He had a mischievous grin, unwavering loyalty, and a deep love for his family and friends. Kaydan chose to help others by being an organ donor. His memory will live on through his selfless generosity.
Kaydan is survived by his mother, Ashley Haney; father, Odell Haney, Jr.; brother, Jordan (Laken) Schrimpshire; two sisters, Miranda (Jonathan) Davis and Kandace Haney; aunt, Wendy M. (Anthony) Turner; three uncles, Chris P. (Tina) Schrimpshire, Bull Haney, and John Wayne (Jennifer) Haney; nieces and nephews, Piper, Westin, Adalee, Graysen, Tylee, Audry, Ashlynn and Allison.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Charlene Rainer; maternal grandfather, Paul Schrimpshire; paternal grandfather, Odell Haney, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Linda Marie Haney; maternal great-grandfather, Charles Neville Jordan; maternal great-grandmother, Betty V Jordan; and maternal great-grandmother, Estelle Edwina Neal.
Visitation was held Monday, June 16, 2025, 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 16, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dewayne Crane officiating.
Burial took place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
