PERTAINING TO ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL DEPOSITORIES
WHEREAS, it appears to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Quitman, Mississippi, that Section 27-105-305 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, and all other laws and amendments thereto, require that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen give notice to each and every bank in said Municipality that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Quitman, Mississippi will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2023, for the privilege of keeping the Municipality and Tax Collector’s funds for the years 2023 through 2026. Bids should include interest rates to be paid, the amount of monthly maintenance fees and transaction charges and whether these fees will be waived; the Mayor and Board of Aldermen will consider said bids at its January 17, 2023, meeting, consider and accept and approve such qualified depositories for the Municipality for the keeping of said funds for the years of 2023 through 2026. The Bidders of bids accepted shall be qualified as a public fund’s depository under Section 27-105-353 and 27-105-305 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 and shall secure those deposits by placing qualified securities with the State Treasurer as provided by law.

WHEREAS, on March 6, 2020, Ricky R Harris and Latrice D. Harris executed a Deed of Trust to Donald G. Griffin, Trustee for Community Bank of Mississippi, which Deed of Trust was recorded on March 11, 2020, as Instrument #202000604 in the office of the Chancery Clerk of Clarke County, Mississippi;
