AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE REVENUE FOR THE CITY OF QUITMAN FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2022, ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2023
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF QUITMAN, MISSISSIPPI.
SECTION 1. That the following taxes for the support and maintenance of the government of the City of Quitman, for the fiscal year October 1, 2022, and ending September 30, 2023, be and same hereby are levied upon all the real estate and personal property, including motor vehicles in said City not exempted from taxation by the laws of the State of Mississippi and the ordinances of the City of Quitman, Mississippi; all money on hand, loaned or deposited, and all other property of every kind and description within the corporate limits of the City of Quitman which are liable for taxation under the Constitution and the laws of the State of Mississippi and the Chai1ering laws of the City of Quitman, Mississippi, to-wit:
(A) That thirty-two and two one hundredth (32.02) mills be and the same is hereby levied upon each dollar as assessed valuation thereof for general purposes consisting of the maintenance of public roads, fire, street purposes, general repairs and improvements and all other obligations and expenses of the State of Mississippi.
(B) That one (1) mill be and the same is hereby levied upon each dollar of assessed valuation thereof as now authorized by law for the operation of the library.
(C) That twenty five one hundredth (.25) mill be and the same is hereby Levied upon each dollar of assessed valuation thereof as now authorized by law for the operation of the fire department.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law, and that all ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City of Quitman in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
