Grab those beads, moonpies, and more and get ready for not just one, but two amazing Mardi Gras Parades set to take place in Clarke County the first weekend in March!
This year, residents will have the opportunity to enjoy and participate in two exceptional parades, starting with a night parade in Quitman on Friday, March 6. The lineup for the parade will start at 5:00 p.m., and the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. The parade will start on Harris Avenue, the road Dart is on, and will end at the Quitman Volunteer Fire Department. The following can participate in the parade in Quitman: businesses, organizations, elected officials, golf carts, side-by-sides (no 4-wheelers), antique vehicles, horses, etc.
On Saturday, March 7, Stonewall will host the parade and Mardi Party following the parade. Lineup for the parade will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. It will start at Jones College and end at the railroad tracks near River of Life Church. The following can participate in the parade in Stonewall: businesses, organizations, elected officials, golf carts, side-by-sides, 4-wheelers, antique vehicles, horses, etc.
The Mardi Party on the ball field in Stonewall will begin as soon as the parade ends. Vendors for the Mardi Party can start setting up booths at 8:00 a.m.
