On the 19 of March, the Panthers had a double dose of teams to play against.
The first game was against the Scott Central Rebels. The bottom of the first inning saw five runs for the Panthers. Patten Shirley in the top of the second struck out two batters with Braylon Peters catching a fly ball down towards left field. Shirley struck out two more batters in the top of the third with Peters catching a fly ball centerfield. The ballgame lasted for six innings with eight runs in total for the Panthers, and the Rebels only had three runs.
The second game of the day was against the Meridian Wildcats. The game started well with 16 striking out most of the batters in the top five innings. In the bottom of the first, Peters batted a triple that came close to being a homerun. Both Peters and JC Robinson made it to the home base before the bottom of the first ended.
As the Panthers ended the bottom of the fifth, the Panthers were soon in a massive amount of trouble. What seemed like a sure victory soon crumbled as the Wildcats scored a mind blowing 14 points in the top of the sixth quarter. This was something the Panthers would not recover from as the final score came down in the Wildcats’ favor 16 – 4.
On the 21 of March, the Panthers made up a game that was canceled due to the bad weather. Their opponent was the Northeast Jones Tigers. Robinson started out strong as the Tigers were each struck out, but the Panthers strong start came to a brutal end as the Panthers were struck out one by one at each inning. The Panthers did not complete a run for the entirety of the game. The score was Panthers 0 – Tigers 13 as the game ended in the fifth inning.
