Alice R. Dean Brashier, of Quitman, MS, passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, following complications from a massive stroke. She was 92.
Alice was the widow of Ralph C. Brashier, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, LaNae Brashier Bond and husband Kyle; son Ralph C. Brashier, Jr.; granddaughter Rachel Bond Dickinson and her husband Josh; grandson Travis Bond and his wife Kaitlin; nine great-grandchildren whom she adored-Drew, Lauren, Eliana, Josiah, Michaela, Isaiah, Abigail, Esther, and Judah; sister Retha Dean May; many wonderful cousins, nieces, and nephews and their families; and a host of friends whom she considered family.
Beloved and blessed, Alice began each day with Bible reading and devotional and prayer time. She enjoyed music, was a fine singer, and particularly loved the old hymns. Among her favorites was “I Know Whom I Have Believed.”
Alice was a marvelous cook, and her caramel cakes won many blue ribbons over the years. Even into her 90s, she hosted large gatherings of family and friends at Thanksgiving and prepared the meal.
Alice has now completed her earthly sojourn and is with the Lord she served so faithfully for so long. All who loved her should join together, remembering, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Trudie Dean, and three siblings.
Her loved ones will miss her terribly, but we know that we will see her again when our earthly race is run.
