Benton Slay was born on November 7, 1958, to Wesley Wyatt Slay and Margie Ree Slay. He passed from this earthly life on March 28, 2024, outdoors, just as he would have wanted. He loved nature and spent all of his time outside enjoying what God created. He also loved his family with all his heart.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Elise McCarra Slay; two daughters, Chelsi Elise Slay and Clancy Rose Slay; and a grandson, Bennett Lane Fuller, who captured his heart and wrapped him around his finger. He is also survived by a brother, Richard Wesley Slay (Martha), and two sisters, Judy Marie Smith (Robert) and Deborah Slay Williams, all of whom he loved very much.
In lieu of flowers, please, make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
