Bobby Lee Scott, 81, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on January 10, 2024, at H. C. Watkins Hospital in Quitman, MS.
He was born on September 21, 1942, to James G. and Evelyn (Denham) Scott in Clarke County, MS.
Bobby was a very active member of Hurricane Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bobby worked and owned Bobby Scott Logging and was a member of the Mississippi Logger's Association.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris L. Scott; two daughters, Carrie A. Scott and Kathy L. (Joseph) Wilkins; step-daughter, Leah (John) Miller; four grandchildren, Rebecca Leanna Scott, Chance Joseph Wilkins, Destin Scott Wilkins, and Alyssa Trace Wilkins; two step-grandchildren, Laurissa Miller and Jason Miller; great-granddaughter, Magnolia Grace Miller; two sisters, Peggy (William "Worm") Pearson and Sally Morgan; and sister-in-law, Terri Scott.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Gerald Scott; mother, Lee Evelyn Scott; two brothers, William C. Scott and Thomas Ray Scott; and a sister, Deborah Ann Scott.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Melvin, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Kennedy and Rev. Tyler Powell officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery (Melvin, AL).
Pallbearers will be Jim Pearson, Andy Morgan, Jeremy Giles, Shawn James, Steven Giles and Scotty Mayatt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Pearson, Harold Giles and Ronnie Morgan.
