Charles "Freddie" Combest Sr., 78, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on February 10, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 11, 1943, to Matt and Margie (Harwell) Combest in Chickasaw County, AL.
Freddie served on the board of directors for the Chickasawhay Natural Gas District. He worked all his life as a general contractor. He was a master plumber, gas fitter and electrician. He was a loving christian husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed spending time outdoors as an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Joye E. Combest; three daughters, Angela Combest (Dennis Kirk) Prince, Cynthia Tindle Restivo, and Erica Combest (Joseph) Graves; son, Charles Freddie Combest, Jr., 12 grandchildren, Tony (Brittany) Gonzalez, Hannah (Zac) Johnson, Abby Jackson, Jessica (James) Young, Ashley Tomaw, Dylan Restivo, Annabella Restivo, Blayre Smith, Collin Smith, Aidan Smith, Lauren Graves, and Bradley Graves; nine great-grandchildren, Harper Johnson, Blakeley Gonzalez, Gentry Johnson, Marli Johnson, J.T. Young, Logan Young, Cole Tomaw, Zayne Restivo, K'ara Restivo; two sisters, Bonnie C. Carroll and Dianne (Bobby Joe) Moulds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Matt Combest; mother, Margie Ruth Combest; sister, Margaret Ellen Lawrence; and two brothers, Maxie Ray Combest, and Bobby J. Combest, Sr.
Visitation was held Sunday, February 13, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 13, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Shoemaker officiating. Burial took place in the Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kirk Prince, Tony Gonzalez, Jody Combest, Bobby Joe Greene, Michael Smith, Brian Smith, Collin Smith and Joseph Graves.
