Clyde Thurston Kelly, 81, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on May 28, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on February 26, 1943, to Johnnie and Olivia (Turner) Kelly in Needham, AL.
Clyde was a longtime member of Providence Church where he served in many capacities, including deacon, church leader, and song director. He had a love for gospel music and enjoyed spending his free time outdoors deer hunting. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and papaw who will be greatly missed.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine T. Kelly; daughter, Lisa (Adam) Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kelly; sister, Kathy Kelly; four grandchildren, Scott (Kristi) Kelly, LeAnn (Colton) Hollis, Andrew Kelly, and Kristin Fulcher; five great-grandchildren, BreAnn Kelly, Cason Hollis, Macon Hollis, AnnaLee Hollis, and Jensen Hollis; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Norris Kelly; mother, Olivia Turner Kelly; beloved son, Tim Kelly; six brothers; and four sisters.
Pallbearers are Ricky Ivy, Zack Brantley, Mike Johnson, Butch Donald, Danny Napp, and Kenny Carney.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, after 10:00 a.m. at Providence Church, Shubuta, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Providence Church with Rev. Kendall Turner and Rev. Kevin Etheridge officiating.
Burial will take place in the Providence Cemetery.
