Connie Gayle Elam, 94, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on December 9, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on May 15, 1930, to Camp and Naomi (Dunnam) Geiger in Hattiesburg, MS.
Connie was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and served in many aspects of the church. She was a devout Christian lady that was always very involved with her family and community.
Connie is survived by her two sons, William David (Sarah) Elam and Henry Ernest (Sherry Phelps) Elam, III; daughter, Connie Esther Patterson; five grandchildren, David (Rachel) Patterson, Eric (Tina) Patterson, Lauren Davis, Chase (Jennifer) Elam, and Allison (Billy Jack) White; five great-grandchildren, Gabe Patterson, Alex Patterson, Naomi Eve Biebell, Reese Lela Davis, and Amber Elam; two sisters, Elizabeth Jane Roland and Phyliss Mullen; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Camp Preston Geiger; mother, Naomi Esther Geiger; husband, Henry Ernest Elam, Jr.; grandson, Scott Harrison Elam; sister, Valentine Kirks; and two half brothers, Winfield Geiger and Preston Geiger.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 12, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Irby officiating.
Burial took place in the McGowan Chapel Cemetery.
