Dorothy Ella Lafferty, 87, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on July 13, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on September 13, 1936, to Lawrence and Ollie (Downey) Williams in Clarke County, MS.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Walter L. (Anita) Lafferty and Glenn A. (Jennifer) Lafferty; daughter, Karen L. (Darrel) Blankenship; nine grandchildren, Madeline (Seth) Nix, Hannah (Garryt) Bryant, Caleb (Rachel) Lafferty, Joshua (Sasha) Lafferty, Lauren (Chase) Stephens, Jordan Lafferty, Courtney (Fielding) Stocksdale, Catherine (Kevin) Wilson, and Candace (Nick) Ring; nine great-grandchildren, Galia Nix, Elizabeth Nix, Gabriel Lafferty, Eva Leigh Stephens, Ruthie Cole Stephens, Tiernan Lafferty, Simeon Stocksdale, Samuel Stocksdale, and Charlotte Stocksdale; sister, Doris Gipson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Porter Williams; mother, Ollie Lenora Williams; husband, William Lavon Lafferty; and three brothers, W. F. Williams, Raynard Williams, and Algie Williams.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Darrel Blankenship, Rev. Glenn Lafferty, and Rev. Walter Lafferty officiating.
Burial will take place in the Shady Grove Church Cemetery.
