Evelyn M. Burns, 83, of Enterprise, Mississippi, passed away on April 2, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She was born on December 1, 1939, to William and Earline (Nix) Miller in Clarke County, MS.
Evelyn was a longtime member of Souenlovie Baptist Church and was currently a member at Hephzibah Baptist Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano. She worked many years as a bookkeeper and was the owner of Evelyn's Accounting and Tax Service. Her favorite past times were reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Homer William (Kim) Chancellor, Jr.; four daughters, Evelyn Suzette Elfring, Marsha Renee Moore, Jennifer B. (Grady) Yeager, and Angela B. (Tony) Williamson; 14 grandchildren, Marsha (Jason) Sehon, James "Biscuit" (Christon) Elfring, Kevin (Brittney) Elfring, Adam (Shannon) Daugherty, Danica Comans, Rachel (Chaz) Bryant, Rebekah (Chad) Evans, Raven (Brian) Kennedy, Ashley (Joseph) Mercado, David (Christy) Moulds, Doug (Jodie) Stephens, Amber Thornton, Amy (Cecil Davis) Burns, and Lisa Burns; 27 great-grandchildren, Allie Sehon, Brenon Sehon, Brodey Elfring, Kamden Elfring, Kaisyn Elfring, Landon Elfring, Jase Elfring, Sparrow Kennedy, Dove Kennedy, Finch Kennedy, Mattie Evans, Jett Evans, Oakley Bryant, Daisy Ruth Bryant, Joey Mercado, Audrey Mercado, Owen Mercado, Taylor Moulds, Wesley Moulds, Katie Moulds, Marshall Daugherty, Roy Daugherty, Wesley Daugherty, Lee Comans, Adam Comans, Madria Comans, and Marsha Comans; sister, Bettie Rose; and brother, Johnny (Betty) Miller
She was preceded in death by her father, William Mason Miller; mother, Allie Earline Miller; husband, Rev. C. C. Burns; and son, Danny Burns.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Souenlovie Baptist Church, Enterprise, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Souenlovie Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Stewart and Rev. Jason Sehon officiating.
Burial will take place in the Souenlovie Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James "Biscuit" Elfring, Kevin Elfring, Adam Daugherty, Brodey Elfring, Kamden Elfring, Brenon Sehon, Landon Elfring, Jase "Bull" Elfring, Chaz Bryant, Chad Evans and Brian Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Sisson and Gerald Sanders.
