Fagan Augusta "Sonny" Spivey, 82, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on December 9, 2023.
Sonny was born on December 7, 1941, to Almer and Lennie Spivey in Stonewall, MS. He was a loving husband, father, and papaw. To know him was to love him. He enjoyed antique cars, working in his shop and spending time with his family and friends. He retired from Burlington Industries in Stonewall, MS.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Daugherty Spivey; his daughters, Suzette (Donnie Earl) Lewis and Annette (Keith) Holloman; grandchildren, Lee Lewis, Anna Carroll, Alex (Bonnie) Holloman, Anthony (Grace) Holloman, Brent Holloman, Jesse Lewis, Joddie Lewis, and Jasmine Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jayden Carroll, Kade Carroll, Braxton Lewis, Rylen Lewis, Presley Ann Holloman, Patton Rose Holloman, Ainzley Carroll, Logan Wix, and Brock Holloman. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Almer and Lennie Spivey; his brothers, James Milton "Pete" Spivey, Francis Ray Spivey; and sister, Louise Mecca.
Pallbearers will be Lee Lewis, Alex Holloman, Anthony Holloman, Joddie Lewis, Jayden Carroll, Kade Carroll, Braxton Lewis and Rylen Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joey Daugherty, Lane Daugherty, Hayes Nance, Brad Newell, Shannon Clark, Steven Ray Phillips and Justin Lewis.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Stonewall Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ray Files and Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Stonewall Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Burial will take place in the Daugherty Family Cemetery.
