On May 14, 2024, God called Freda McClure to her heavenly home. Freda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was 73 years old and passed after a four and a half year fight against cancer.
Freda is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" McClure; daughter, Tina Beech (husband, Lee, both of Clarke County, MS); grandchildren, Trey Beech (wife Lauren), Haydan Beech (girlfirend Lindzi Harris), and Cooper Beech, all of Clarke County, MS; sister-in-law, Debra Ramon; numerous cousins; and too many friends and "family" (friends as close as family) to count.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred "Buddy" Braddock and Ava Merle Braddock. She was an only child.
She finished high school in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was working in the insurance field when she went on a "blind " date with Chuck McClure who was home on leave from the Air Force. They were engaged before his leave was up and were married for 53 years.
After moving to Quitman, she worked in the Special Education office of the Quitman School System for many years. After retirement, she was the Church Hostess at Quitman First Baptist Church. After leaving Quitman First Baptist Church, she devoted her life to family and friends. Known throughout her community as a Christian beacon of life and kindness, Freda will be remembered not just for her smile and joy, but also the joy she brought to others.
Visitation was held at Quitman First Baptist Church on, May 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The celebration service followed. Bro. Terry Ivy and Bro. Dennis Coats were officiating.
