Greg C. "Peachie" Fairchild, 63, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on July 20, 2024, in Meridian, MS.
He was born on January 26, 1961, to Gene and Jimmie (Cranford) Fairchild in Mobile, AL.
Greg was a member of the Quitman Volunteer Fire Department and also worked as a Paramedic with Paratech EMS. He served Clarke County as County Medical Examiner for 16 years and was a member of the State Coroners Association. Greg was a member of Bethany Church where he served in many capacities including Head Deacon. He was a longtime employee for Lauderdale County School District.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Sherri K. Fairchild; son, Alex James Fairchild; daughter, Amiee Danielle Fairchild; mother, Jimmie C McCoy; three uncles, Mike (Lynn) Fairchild, Danny (Cheryl) Fairchild, and James Crocker; three cousins, Brad Fairchild, Kevin (Kristin) Fairchild, and Maria Crocker; and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Carl Fairchild; sister, Donna Chisolm; aunt, Carol Irene Crocker; paternal grandparents, Irene Tew and Edward Ezra Fairchild; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Nellie Lorene and Willie B. Johnson; and maternal grandfather, Bill Cranford.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Glenn Lafferty officiating.
Burial will take place in the Archusa Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Smith, Alan Smith, Mark Harper, David Bonner, Danny Anthony and Adam Foreman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Mayo, Kevin Giles, Joseph Allen and Members of the Quitman Volunteer Fire Department.
