Harold Maret Cockrell, 63, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on November 26, 2022, at Queen City Nursing Center in Meridian, Mississippi. He was born on October 4, 1959, to Harold and Oletha (Meyer) Cockrell in Quitman, Mississippi.
Maret is survived by his loving wife, Fredna Turner Cockrell; son, Derrick Carroll; daughter, Ashley Haney; sisters, Jane Cockrell and Karen Cockrell; granddaughter, Aubrey Hamburg; grandson, Liam Haney; and uncle, Arthur Cockrell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold M. Cockrell; mother, Oletha Meyer Cockrell; brother, John Cockrell; grandparents, Harry and Nora Meyer of Stonewall and John and Leila Cockrell of Quitman; and great grandparents, Andrew and Martha Bradley of Stonewall.
Maret loved his church family as well as beloved neighbors, Ricky and Becky Harper and his very special friend, Rev. Pat Oakes. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandbabies, Aubrey and Liam.
Visitation was held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home in Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Oakes officiating. Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Gardner, Jerry Miller, Oscar Brewer, Randall Graham, Berry Smith, and Dan Moore; along with James Hardwick, Ricky Harper, and Ricky Ivy serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
