Lillian Vaughn was born August 13, 1917, in Quitman, Mississippi, to Thomas and Willie Mae McGee.
She was number four amongst 10 children. She was raised in Quitman, Mississippi until she married and moved to Moss Point, Mississippi, where she would go on to raise of family of four children with her husband Sylvester Vaughn.
Ms. Vaughn lived a life of service, always doing for others and treating everyone that she encountered like family. She was known to be an excellent cook and always shared with those in need. She was devoted to her church: Church of God on Doris Street in Moss Point, Mississippi.
In 2006, she moved back to the City of Quitman and became active again and devoted to her family church, Elwood Church of God.
In her birthplace of the City of Quitman is where she lived until her sunset on February 24, 2023, at the age of 105.
A viewing will be held at Berry Gardner Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
A celebration service will take place at the Elwood Church of God on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow immediately after, followed by the repass.
