Mamie Lois Richardson Carmichael, 87, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on January 5, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on March 31, 1936, to Charlie and Onie (Satcher) Richardson in Stonewall, MS.
Mamie was a longtime teacher and educator for over 30 years in Forrest County Agricultural High School, Stonewall, and Quitman School Districts. She was a member of Stonewall First Baptist Church and also a member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all that knew her.
Mamie Lois is survived by her three sons, Mike Carmichael, Dan Carmichael, and Ricky Carmichael; two grandchildren, Amber (Damian) Hughes and Kari (Cameron) Burford; six great-grandchildren, Christian (Glenn) Sayre, Raeleigh Carman, Kensi Burford, Lexi Burford, Maddox Leist, and Maddox Burford; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Oscar Richardson; mother, Onie Amelia Richardson; husband, Aubrey R. "Cobb" Carmichael; sister, Virginia Richardson Grayson; and a brother, Charles Ray Richardson.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, after 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Files and Kris Carmichael officiating.
Burial will take place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
