Mary Ellis Thomas, 73, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on October 4, 2022, in Meridian, MS. She was born on May 3, 1949, to Byron and Villa (Cooley) Duell in Meridian, MS. Mary was a member of Rolling Creek Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Thomas; three sons, Jeffery (Christi) Thomas, Timothy (Maria) Thomas, and Richard J. (Heather) Thomas; daughter, Janet (Christopher) Driskell; 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Tootsie Mae (Huey) Bell, Earline Gould, and Emma Watts.
She was preceded in death by her father, Byron Joseph Duell; mother, Villa Mae Duell; two grandsons, Scotty Edward Thomas and Andrew Sublette; sister, Daisey Marie Duell; five brothers, Byron Joseph Duell, Jr., George Edward Duell, Marshall Lavon Duell, Jack Edward Duell and Ray Duell.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the Rolling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Richard Coats, officiating.
Burial took place in the Rolling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
