Nicholas Scott Wood, 40, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away at his home unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024.
He was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on January 3, 1984, to parents, Ulas Sherel Wood III and Pamela Means Adams. Scott was welcomed into this world by his older brother Corey Brooks Wood, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
Scott was a talented and skilled machinist. After high school, Scott attended Meridian Community College where he earned an associate degree in Computer Numerical Controls Machining.
Scott enjoyed spending time with his family and his partner Ginger Loper and her son Cade. He was very happy and excited about his relationship with Ginger and the life that they were building. Scott also enjoyed the outdoors and playing music. Scott will be remembered for his kind, gentle and loving nature, and his infectious laughter. Scott’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Scott is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Ulas Sherel Wood II, Annette Cartwright, Mary Jewel Wood and Ulas Wood and his maternal grandfather, Roy Means.
He is survived by his partner Ginger Loper and her son Cade; his father, Ulas Sherel Wood III; mother, Pamela Means Adams; stepfather, Hershell Adams; grandmother, Betty Means; brothers, Brooks (Laurie) Wood, Destin (Leslie) Wood, Jacob Adams, Brook (Candice) Adams; sister, Jennifer (Ray) Claton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
