Oscar James "Jim" Crosby, 84, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on February 10, 2022, at Rush Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1937, to Jacob and Ida (Jacobs) Crosby.
He was a veteran of United States Navy. He was a founding member and president of the Choctaw County Alabama Rescue Squad. He was a longtime faithful member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church of Quitman, MS.
Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Crosby; friend, Dennis Coats; step-daughter, Dannalie Patricia Austin (Paul) Malvaez; step-son, Chad (Melissa) Austin; sister, Sadie McGill; sister-in-law, Penny (Frank) Zerbel; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anita Crosby; step-daughter, Shanna Austin; parents, Jacob Gordon Crosby and Ida Jacobs Crosby; and brother, Willie James "Bud" Crosby.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating. Burial will take place in the Archusa Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Brady, James Fagan, George Crocker, Lane Knight, Robert Stratton, and Ricky Fleming.
