Virginia L. Dickerson, 76, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on February 2, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on August 28, 1945, to Vardaman and Velma (Anderson) Ivey in Quitman, MS.
She was a lifelong member of East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School. She was a volunteer at Willing Hearts and Hands in Quitman. She also participated in many mission trips to places such as Kiev, Trinidad, and Missouri to name a few.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Robert Dickerson; daughter, Deborah (Darrell) Trickett; son, Robert (Amy) Dickerson; four grandchildren, Lauren (Lance) Blackwell, Andrew Dickerson, Jesse Trickett, and Audra Trickett; sister, Elizabeth Ann (J.C.) Mathis, Brother, J.V. (Ann) Ivey; three nieces, Amy (Michael) Beasley Tonya (Ray) Files, and Martha (Tim) Allen; a numerous great nieces and great nephews; and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vardaman Ivey; mother, Velma Lee Ivey; and her first husband, T.E. Williams.
Visitation was held Friday, February 4, 2022, after 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Gullick and Rev. Jim Hill officiating.
Burial took place in the East Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David McCraney, Jody McCraney, Tyler Boutwell, Melton Davis, Tony Jenkins, Timmy Boutwell, and Robert Hicks.
