Zell Carlie Smith Jr., 82, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on February 9, 2022, at Rush Hospital. He was born on October 5, 1939, to Zell and Nellie (King) Smith, Sr. in Stonewall, MS.
Carlie is survived by two daughters, Robin McPhearson and Sandra (James) Warstler; four grandchildren, Ashley McCarthy, Melinda (John Amezcua) Mallard, Ric (Jennifer) Mallard, and William Mallard; three great-grandchildren, Isabela Mallard, Alexandria Mallard, and Liliana Amezcua sister, Virginia Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his father, Zell Smith, Sr.; mother, Nellie Hazel Smith; wife, Rebecca Ann Smith; grandson, Matthew Stone McPhearson; and son-in-law, Keith Todd McPhearson.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Stonewall Cemetery with Rev. Ray Files officiating. Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
