Darius Lavonne Sumrall was arrested for drug trafficking on Thursday, March 3, at the intersection of County Road 212 and 214 in Shubuta.
Law enforcement officers were conducting a traffic stop at the time and seized approximately three pounds of methamphetamine and one and a half pounds of marijuana, totaling about $20,000 worth in street value.
Sumrall was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and trafficking of marijuana. He was on probation when arrested.
An investigation was conducted, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office all assisted in the investigation.
“I’m proud of our law enforcement partners for assisting in the case,” declared Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp. “It takes all of us working together.”
He was taken before a judge and issued a $150,000 bond.
